Wikipedia - Kaohsiung Aquas
The Kaohsiung Aquas (Chinese: 高雄全家海神) are a Taiwanese professional basketball team based in Kaohsiung City. They have competed in the T1 League since the 2021–22 season, and play their home games at the Kaohsiung Arena and Fengshan Gymnasium. The Aquas became one of the six teams of the inaugural T1 League season.
The Aquas have a copartnership with Kaohsiung Jeoutai Technology, signed multi-players originally play in the team. Jeoutai Tech is a semi-professional basketball team competes in the Super Basketball League (SBL), another league in Taiwan.
On April 17, 2022, The Aquas announced that they would play their playoff home games at Fengshan Gymnasium. On June 4, the Aquas defeated the Taichung Wagor Suns, 3–0, winning the 2021–22 season championship.
History
2021: Team creation
On August 4, 2021, the Aquas traded their 1st round pick to New Taipei CTBC DEA for 1.5 million NTD. In the 2021 draft, they drafted I-Shou swingman Su Wen-Ju in the second round.
Aquas ägs av Fubon Financial Holding Co. och leds av huvudtränaren Cheng Chih-lung. Lagets nuvarande lagkapten är Cheng Wei.
Sedan grundandet har Aquas nått framgångar i den taiwanesiska basketligan. De vann sitt första ligamästerskap under säsongen 2021–22 och blev därmed det tredje laget att vinna ligan efter Taipei Fubon Braves och Yulon Luxgen.
Aquas har också representerat Taiwan i East Asia Super League (EASL). Under säsongen 2022–23 nådde de slutspelet, där de besegrades av Anyang KGC i kvartsfinalen.
Lagets framgångar har gjort dem populära bland basketfans i Taiwan. De är kända för sitt snabba och aggressiva spel och för att ha ett lovande lag med unga talanger.
Några av Aquas mest framstående spelare inkluderar Chen Ying-chun, Hu Long-mao och Jason Brickman.
